2023 4-H Saskatchewan Provincial Public Speaking

32 outstanding 4-H members competed in the 2023 4-H Saskatchewan Provincial Public Speaking competition at the Vic Juba Community Theatre at Lakeland College in Lloydminster.  These 32 members delivered self-authored speeches on a variety of topics ranging from “Perseverance” to “Mutton Busting.” After the competition, participants and guests were treated to a banquet and prizes courtesy of the hosting District #35 4-H Council.  The winning speakers for the 2023 Provincial Public Speaking Competition were:

Cloverbud
1st Place- Addison Blind (Eagle Hills 4-H Club- NW) – “Cheetahs”
2nd Place- Lyla Glenn (Val Marie 4-H Light Horse Club- SW) – “No Way”
3rd Place – Kelly Jones (Reno Multiple 4-H Club- SW) – “Fun in the Funfinder”

Junior
1st Place- Jayce Stolhandske-Dale (Burnham 4-H Community Club- SW) – “My Crazy Mother”
2nd Place- Winston DeBruijn (Big River Multiple 4-H Club-NW) – “How to Take Over the World”
3rd Place- Gage Goetz (Outram-Madigan 4-H Beef Club-SE) – My Football Experience”
Honourable Mention- Jolene Friesen (Clavet Multiple 4-H Club- NW) – “O.I.”

Intermediate
1st Place- Ava Loveridge (Goodeve Multiple 4-H Club-SE) – “Canadian Stereotypes”
2nd Place- Morgan Debenham (Kennedy 4-H Beef Club- SE)- “Time”
3rd Place- Mia Mackie (Reno Multiple 4-H Club- SW) – “One Day At A Time”

Senior
1st Place- Olivia Keslick (Maple Creek Multiple 4-H Club-SW) “Perseverance”
2nd Place- Janelle Stolhandske-Dale (Burnham 4-H Community Club-SW) “I am Malala”
3rd Place- Katherine Possberg (Viscount 4-H Beef Club- NE) “The Fear of the Unknown”
