The 2026 Provincial Public Speaking competition was co-hosted this year by District #21 and the 4-H Saskatchewan staff. The event took place in Humboldt at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall on Sunday, May 3rd.<br /><br />Due to a nasty storm that hit most of the province, the event had to be postponed. Luckily, all 36 of the best 4-H speakers in the province, along with their family and friends, were able to come together to celebrate their public speaking skills the following weekend. All competitors should be extremely proud of their hard work and dedication that resulted in making it to the provincial level.<br /><br />This year, the format for the event had a positive change! We were honoured to hear Provincial winning speeches from public speaking champions <strong>Aliyah</strong> and <strong>Zoe</strong>. The highlight of the night was presenting special awards to <strong>Kadence Johnson</strong> (Builder&rsquo;s Honour Roll) and <strong>Bev Gordon</strong> (Hall of Fame). To finish off the night, members hit the floor at the fan-favourite dance, while leaders enjoyed a Hawaiian-themed games room for some relaxed social time.<br /><br /><strong>Sunday</strong> was all about leadership in action! The morning featured regional meetings and discussion tables, followed by our <strong>Annual General Meeting</strong> in the afternoon.<br />What an inspiring and energizing weekend for 4-H! They then judged the first three classes: Honey and Water, which were written reasons classes, as well as a Grain Identification class.<br /><br />The competition resumed on Monday, November 24th at the Chevy GMC arena in the International Trade Centre on the Agribition grounds. The morning consisted of the remaining judging classes, including Charolais, Hereford, Speckle Park, Light Horse, Alpaca and Prospect Steers. Competitors gave oral reasons on these classes to a variety of judges in the Queensbury Building. Competitors explained their reasons for placing the class, being careful to use the proper terminology for each specific species, while paying close attention to the confirmation and characteristics of the individual classes.<br /><br />After the competition and some free time at Agribition, competitors returned to the hotel for the Awards Banquet, where the class high points and top five competitors were named. Cloverbud, junior, and members with an accommodation, will not be penalized for assistance in the show ring. Assistance should be provided by an older registered 4-H member whenever possible.<br /><br /><strong>Sheep Livestock Policy - Updated Continuation and market projects&nbsp;</strong><br />PP-2 Saskatchewan 4-H Projects - 2.3 Rules regarding Animal Projects &amp; Shows<br />2.3.9 Rules Specific to Sheep Projects<br />1. Sheep members must have fed, cared for and fitted their animal for at least three months prior to Achievement Day.<br />2. As required by CSIP, sheep must be identified by RFID tags.<br />3.&nbsp;Ewe continuation project<br />a.&nbsp;A member showing a yearling ewe, mature ewe, or ewe with natural lamb(s) at side must have completed a project year with the same animal as a ewe lamb.<br />4. A market lamb project may be a ewe lamb or a wether lamb.<br /><br /><strong style="">Beef Livestock Policy- NEW Calendar year calf</strong><br />PP-2 Saskatchewan 4-H Projects - 2.3 Rules regarding Animal Projects &amp; Shows<br />2.3.6 Rules Specific for Beef Projects<br />5. Calendar Year Calf Project<br />a.
