2023 Provincial 4-H Judging was a success!
This event, held on August 18 & 19 in Weyburn SK, hosted 41 competitors from six Regional Teams: Lloydminster, Saskatoon, Whitewood, Weyburn, Swift Current, and a Multi-Regional Team made up of participants from all over the province. Competitors arrived on Friday night for registration and supper, followed by two judging classes: Feed Evaluation and Agility Dogs. The evening was wrapped up with a fun game of music trivia. Saturday consisted of the remainder of the judging classes: Beef Heifers, Light Horse, Breeding Ewes, Meat Cuts, Mystery (Flower Arrangements), and a Grains (Wheat) class provided by title sponsor, Viterra. Thank you Viterra! Competitors then gave Oral Reasons on many of the classes, and the day was wrapped up with an Awards Banquet. UPDATE: Results are in! The final placings for 2023 Provincial 4-H Judging have been adjusted and can now be released. Due to one of the classes being removed from the Final Placings on account of a miscalculation in scoring, the final results look as such:
It should also be noted that Canadian Western Agribition has permitted 4-H Saskatchewan to send 12 competitors to the Canadian National 4-H & Youth Judging Competition in November, so the above-mentioned competitors are all eligible to attend as members of the 4-H Saskatchewan Judging Team! High Points for all classes remain as such:
Congratulations to all the members that placed, and thank you to everyone for attending, you did a great job! Also, a huge thank you goes out to:
