Saskatchewan Agriculture Student Scholarship : [1 - $4,000, 3 - $2,000]. Do you know a student thinking about studying agriculture at a post-secondary institution in the fall of 2022? For students passionate about telling the story of agriculture, the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture is proudly offering the Agriculture Student Scholarship for the eleventh consecutive year.
Saskatchewan Grade 12 students and recent high school graduates (within the last two years) have the chance to win a grand-prize scholarship of $4,000 or one of three runner-up scholarships of $2,000 when they submit a three-minute video or 1,000-word essay. This year’s scholarship theme, ‘transparency,’ encourages young people to explore the idea of transparency in agriculture and how it affects public perception of the industry.
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be planning to take an agriculture-related post-secondary education program beginning in the fall of 2022. RBC Future Launch Scholarship: The RBC Future Launch scholarship program is an innovative program for Canadian youth (aged 15 to 29) who are either studying part-time or not currently in school and have the desire to learn something new. The scholarship (valued at $1500) can be used to support a wide range of learning opportunities, including short-term courses, workshops, certificates, or online training – and their associated costs (tuition, travel, tools, books, etc.) Scholarship recipients will be selected based on their drive, commitment to lifelong learning, and how they plan to use the funds to pursue their chosen learning opportunity. Unlike traditional scholarships, grades and transcripts are not required to apply – and non-traditional reference materials (such as visual arts, music, poetry, video blogs) can be submitted as part of an application. The Bayer Fund Opportunity Scholarship Program - The Bayer Fund Opportunity Scholarship Program is available to Canadian high school students who are enrolled in their final year of high school. Those eligible for a scholarship must be planning to enroll at a Canadian post‑secondary institution (degree or diploma) in a first-year agriculture, food science or culinary program. Successful applicants will each be awarded a scholarship valued at $1,500, based on demonstrated academic standards and leadership in the community. Selection will be made by an independent panel.
Bayer Crop Science Scholarship for Future Leaders - Bayer CropScience is strongly committed to fostering future leaders in Canadian agriculture. As such, they are proud to offer the Bayer CropScience Inc. Scholarship for Future Leaders to recognize students who have demonstrated leadership and contribution to the field of agriculture. Six $5,000 annual scholarships will be awarded at leading Canadian agriculture universities to students who demonstrate their leadership, engagement and contribution to agriculture in Canada through their academic, volunteer/community involvement and/or extracurricular activities (one scholarship per eligible institution). Eligible Institutions include: The University of Alberta, The University of Guelph, The University of Saskatchewan, The University of Lethbridge, The University of Manitoba, and Dalhousie University.
SPRA Scholarships SPRA is proud to support individuals pursuing careers in the recreation field by awarding scholarships to students enrolled in Recreation and Leisure programs. Recipients are selected on the basis of academic achievement and demonstrated involvement as a volunteer in recreation, parks or leisure services. Three scholarships, each valued at $1,500 are awarded annually to students enrolled in:
TD Scholarship for Community Leadership - awards students up to $70,000 for college or university (up to $10,000 for tuition per year, and up to $7,500 for living expenses for four years). The award is for those who demonstrate community leadership, have a minimum average of 75% and are in their final year of high school. They must write a 600-word essay describing their community leadership, send in a letter of recommendation, two letters of support from community groups and their academic transcript. There is also an additional 250-word statement applicants can chose to submit about life experiences or their family and personal life. The deadline to apply is November 15.
G3 Grow Beyond Scholarship - The future of the agriculture industry relies on innovation and technology in order to keep up with global demand. The future of agriculture relies on you. This calls for new ideas, and the possibilities are endless. G3 and Agriculture In The Classroom Canada (AITC-C) are dedicated to this innovative future and the G3 Grow Beyond Scholarship is our way of helping students like you recognize and reach your full potential in leading that change, wherever your career may take you. Other organizations
Arnal Brothers Memorial Bursary for Young Farmers: The Arnal Family has created this bursary to recognize the leadership and community involvement in agriculture of a young farmer in loving memory of Sean, Blake and Lyndon Arnal. This bursary will be awarded to an applicant between the ages of 8-18 who lives in South West Saskatchewan, attends a school in the Chinook School Division, and who has an agricultural interest or project in which they would like to invest. Applicants will be asked to provide a business plan for their entrepreneurial ventures or education, including the cost, goals, and the overall plan of the endeavour. The applicant should outline their own involvement in agriculture as well. Applications can be mailed to Chantal Henderson - PO Box 2097, Swift Current, SK. S9H 4V1. Questions can be directed to the Arnal Brothers Memorial Facebook page. The application deadline is March 1.
Sidney Greene Entrance Scholarship: [$800] Available to 4-H members entering the University of Saskatchewan. Deadline for entry is March 1. Apply through your University of Saskatchewan PAWS account.
Scholarships available from the Canadian Western Agribition:
Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists Branch Scholarships - Six scholarships available at $1,000 each - one winner from each of the six SIA branches is chosen. To apply you must be a current Grade 12 high school student graduating in the year of award with plans to enroll as a first year full-time student in the fall in a Saskatchewan-based post-secondary program related to agrology in the fall of award. Preference will be given to students who are entering their first year at the College of Agriculture & Bioresources. Immediate family members of current institute staff or provincial councillors are not eligible to apply. To apply, you must submit a title page (including name, contact information, highschool contact information, and name of institution/program), a written essay (max: 500 words; titled "Why I have chosen to pursue a career in Agrology" which includes information on challenges and opportunities the agriculture, bioresources, food or environment industry will face in 5 - 10 years, and what role you wish to play in addressing said challenges); and a resume demonstrating work and volunteer activities. Excellence in Ag Program - This unique program, offered by Federated Co-operatives Limited, provides an opportunity for students studying agriculture or business at an accredited institution to finance their education, gain experience in the field, and build a professional career in the agribusiness industry. The scholarship has a value of up to $20,000 (paid in instalments over four years) and includes paid summer internship positions for up to three years, and the opportunity for full-time employment at a retail co-operative. Loran Scholars Program - The Loran Scholars Program is open to graduating high school students across Canada with an 85% or higher average. 30 recipients are selected each year for the award, renewable for up to four years, and valued at up to $100,000. Loran Scholars are chosen for their character, service and leadership potential. There are two types of applicants (sponsored and direct pool) - each Canadian high school is eligible to sponsor up to three students - speak to your guidance counsellor or principal about becoming sponsored. The deadline to submit applications is in September/October, followed by Regional interviews in late November or December. Finalists are then invited to national selection in Toronto for personal interviews. Award recipients are announced in February. More information can be found here.
Nuffield Canada Scholarships - The Nuffield Canada Scholarship is a prestigious rural leadership program available to anyone mid-career who is involved in agriculture in any capacity of primary production, industry or governance. This $15,000 scholarship provides individuals with a unique opportunity to: Access the world’s most extensive network in food and farming; Achieve personal development through travel and study; and Deliver long-term benefits to Canadian farmers and growers, and to the industry as a whole. Each year scholarships are awarded to individuals who are expected to assume positions of greater influence in their field in the future. Applicants are required to complete the Nuffield Scholarship application by June 30. After review of the applications the Nuffield Scholarship Selection Committee conducts interviews with potential candidates assessing their candidacy and proposed area of study. Scholarships are then awarded by July 30.
The Tanya Howe Damsgaard Memorial Scholarship - The Tanya Howe Damsgaard Memorial Scholarship was established by the family and friends of Tanya Howe Damsgaard after her brief battle with cancer. Tanya was a passionate individual that embodied education and community service. Tanya grew up on a mixed family farm south of Moose Jaw spending her youth actively enrolled in 4-H and the Charolais breed. Tanya pursued a career in pharmacy through the University of Saskatchewan and practiced in Manitoba until her passing. Tanya was a strong advocate for education and preventive patient care. Tanya’s commitment to excellence noted by her employer when she earned the Pharmacist of the Year Award at London Drugs in 2009. This scholarship is intended to encourage youth with a agriculture background to pursue careers in science and maintain a strong culture of community of service. This is a $1,000 annual scholarship, awarded to students who have completed at least one year of post secondary education in agriculture, pharmacy, science or health sciences at a Canadian college or university. Selection criteria are: agriculture background, community service and academic performance. Deadline to apply is June 1.
Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers Program - Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers Program is proud to introduce the OYF Memorial Scholarship, to be awarded annually to two individuals pursuing post secondary education in agriculture. This scholarship is possible through the foresight of alumnus Martin Streef (Ontario 1996). Martin’s dedication to agriculture and the OYF program will help future generations pursue their passion for agriculture. Two $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually. One scholarship is awarded to an individual entering post secondary education from high school. The second scholarship is awarded to an individual who has already completed at least one year of post secondary study. Apply by June 30.
Canadian Agri-Business Education Foundation - CABEF awards seven $2,500 scholarships annually to students enrolling or currently in an agricultural related program at a Canadian university, college or apprenticeship institution. These scholarships are funded through generous donations from agri-business and people involved in the agricultural and food industry. Students from across Canada are invited to apply for one of seven scholarships awarded annually. One scholarship will be awarded in the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Québec, the Atlantic Provinces as a whole and one from British Columbia/Territories. Applicants will be assessed on a combination of their leadership attributes, and written or video response to the question “What do you consider to be the two main opportunities for the Canadian agriculture and food industry and which one inspires you the most?” Deadline is April 30.
Holstein Canada Scholarships - Each fall, six $1,000 Education Awards are offered by Holstein Canada. There is one award available to youth from Western Canada. To be eligible, you must have completed at least one year of university/college and be returning to school. You must be a regular or junior member of Holstein Canada, or a son/daughter of a member; or a member-farm employee that is supported by your employer. Education award applications are available each fall and due in November.
Saskatchewan Paint Horse Club Scholarship - The Saskatchewan Paint Horse Club Scholarship is open to any Saskatchewan youth resident, who owns (or parents own) an APHA horse, or SPHC youth member who has a SPHC membership and owns a APHA horse are eligible for this award. They must be in high school and cannot have been awarded a SPHC Youth Scholarship in the past. March 31 deadline.

- William M. Farley Memorial Scholarship [$1,500] This scholarship program is open to students who have participated in Canadian Western Agribition as an exhibitor or participant themselves or with their family, as well as students who themselves or their parents have been a volunteer for the show. The applicant can be enrolled in any academic program and must be in their second or subsequent year in a program of at least two years duration. Deadline is October 1.

Saskatchewan Paint Horse Club Scholarship - The Saskatchewan Paint Horse Club Scholarship is open to any Saskatchewan youth resident, who owns (or parents own) an APHA horse, or SPHC youth member who has a SPHC membership and owns a APHA horse are eligible for this award. They must be in high school and cannot have been awarded a SPHC Youth Scholarship in the past. March 31 deadline.
