​Who We Are
4-H Saskatchewan is a non-profit youth empowering organization that promotes community involvement through mentorship as demonstrated by our motto “Learn To Do By Doing.” In 4-H Saskatchewan, youth ages 6-21 and volunteer leaders come together to learn through fun hands-on activities in community clubs across the province.  There are also provincial camps, conferences, scholarship and travel opportunities, and more to allow youth to develop skills in leadership, business, self-confidence, and more.  4-H provides youth with a place where they can be involved, accepted, valued, and heard while developing valuable life skills.

What You Will Do
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Accounting Administrator is responsible for completing all financial transactions for the organization. You will work with a small team of 8 employees in an upbeat and positive environment. The position is for 22.5 hours per week. Hours of work are flexible and remote work options will also be considered.  Job based tasks will include preparing cheques and e-payments, bank reconciliations, processing expense accounts and visa payments, completing GST return and submitting the Annual Return Documentation to the provincial Information Services Corporation. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Preparing cheques and e-payments
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Payroll
  • Process expense accounts and visa payments
  • Complete GST and PST return
  • T4 and T4A preparation
  • Submit Annual Return to Information Services Corporation
  • Prepare quarterly budget variance reports
  • Prepare quarterly spending reports for staff members
  • Work with the executive director to develop annual budget
  • Prepare documents for yearly audit
  • Presentations of quarterly financial reports to board of directors
  • Group insurance oversite
  • Financial onboarding of new employees
 
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Strong background in bookkeeping
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision in a team environment
  • Effective time management and organization skills
  • Working knowledge accounting computer programs (Sage, ADP payroll)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to tailor financial reports for a board of directors.  
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity and understanding of the workings of boards and committees would be an asset
  • Familiarity with 4-H is an asset.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite a requirement.
  • Must produce a clean criminal record check.

This position will be based at the Provincial 4-H Office in Saskatoon. Remote work will be considered.
