New policy updates

The new 4-H year brings NEW policy changes and updates.  The following policy changes are in effect as of October 19, 2024.  
New Alcohol Policy
Possession and/or use of alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs or non-prescribed inhalants or tobacco/tobacco products by participants at any 4-H activity targeted at 4-H members are forbidden and will result in disciplinary action.
Addition to Livestock Show Rules
LIVESTOCK POLICY
re: yearling heifers who have calved by Achievement Day

• In the event a yearling heifer project is found to be bred and has calved before Achievement Day, the heifer is not permitted to be shown with her calf at side. The member may still choose to finish out the year by completing the heifer project in a different way as deemed acceptable by the leaders of the member’s club.
  • This animal may still be used as a continuation project and shown the following 4-H year as a 2 year old pair granted the member completed the yearling heifer project the previous year. 

Addition to Criminal & Vulnerable Sector Records Check Policy
4-H Saskatchewan may, at any time, request a leader or volunteer provide a current criminal record check and/or vulnerable sector check. The Criminal Record Check and/or Vulnerable Sector Check must be provided within 30 days of the request being made.
