The 4-H Public Speaking season has come to an end! The 2026 Provincial Public Speaking competition was co-hosted this year by District #21 and the 4-H Saskatchewan staff. The event took place in Humboldt at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall on Sunday, May 3rd. Due to a nasty storm that hit most of the province, the event had to be postponed. Luckily, all 36 of the best 4-H speakers in the province, along with their family and friends, were able to come together to celebrate their public speaking skills the following weekend. All competitors should be extremely proud of their hard work and dedication that resulted in making it to the provincial level. This year, the format for the event had a positive change! The Cloverbud and Junior members presented their speeches in the morning; a luncheon was served and awards followed. Intermediates and Senior speakers recited their speeches in the afternoon, with their awards presented afterwards. The results for the 2026 Provincial Public Speaking Competition are as follows: Cloverbuds
Juniors
Intermediates
Seniors
Thank you to the judges who volunteered their time and had to make some very difficult decisions. Thank you to the volunteers who worked very hard to make this event a success. A special shout out to Mike Kirzinger and Sandra Hessdorfer. Their dedication to the 4-H program is second to none! And thank you to Bunge for supporting provincial events like this one! We hope all the participants had a great day and enjoyed sharing their speeches. See you again next year!
